International Mental Health Observance Calendar 2026

The goal of internationally recognized days dedicated to mental health is to raise awareness and break the stigma that often follows the themes and days covered below. These days can be incorporated into Pakistani workplace calendars, school planning, community initiatives, NGOs, or personal wellbeing plans for 2026.

Key Days & Weeks for Mental Health Awareness 

Many of these observances are recognized by international bodies like the WHO, the UN, IASP, and global mental health organizations, providing credibility for awareness campaigns.

February

10 February – Safer Internet Day (mental wellness online) 

This day aims to promote a safer, more positive use of digital space.

March

30 March – World Bipolar Day 

Global awareness about bipolar disorder and support for people living with it.

April

Stress Awareness Month (April) 

The entire month highlights stress causes and mental wellness strategies (observed in many countries).

Apr 7  – World Health Day 

A global health day, including mental health. 

May

13–18 May – Mental Health Awareness Week 

Week-long focus on breaking the taboo and promoting understanding of mental health and its significance.

September 

10 September – World Suicide Prevention Day 

 An important global day raising awareness around suicide prevention and support.

24 May – World Schizophrenia Awareness Day

Understanding and raising global awareness about schizophrenia and supportive care.

10 October – World Mental Health Day 

The global International Day for Mental Health Awareness, which is supported by WHO/WFMH.

Early October 1st-7th – BPD Awareness Week 

Days focused on understanding and spreading awareness regarding Borderline Personality Disorder

Mid-Oct OCD Awareness Week

A week offering support for Obsessive Compulsive Disorder & related conditions
