Examples of compulsive behaviors:
- Excessive or habitual hand washing, showering, brushing teeth, etc.
- Recurrent cleaning and performing household chores
- Repeated inspection of objects such as doors, locks, switches, appliances, etc.
- Arranging or placing things in a specific way
- Repetitively seeking approval or reassurance
- Repeated actions, such as counting, repeating, extremely preferencing or dodging certain numbers
- An individual may ignore particular people, places, or circumstances that may trigger or cause obsessions and/or compulsions. Avoiding these may cause more damage and a person to function normally in their daily life.
