Different Types of Digestive Disorders

Digestive disorders are several conditions of the digestive tract, which is also known as the gastrointestinal (GI) tract. This includes the esophagus, liver, stomach, small and large intestines, gallbladder and pancreas.

Digestive disorders range from mild to severe diseases. Some common digestive disorders include gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), irritable bowel syndrome, constipation, hemorrhoids, cancer, lactose intolerance and hiatal hernia.

 

SYMPTOMS OF DIGESTIVE DISORDERS

The most frequent symptoms of digestive disorders include

Constipation

Constipation is one of the most common types of digestive problems in which a person experiences difficulty in having a bowel movement or passing a stool. It causes fewer stools, on an average less than three times a week or just incomplete stools.

Irritable bowel syndrome (IBS)

Irritable bowel syndrome also known as IBS, spastic colon, irritable colon, or nervous stomach is a functional disease where a person’s intestinal muscles contract more or less than “normal.” Some foods, medicines and emotional stress can cause IBS to be triggered that can trigger IBS.

 

Gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD)

GERD is a common condition in which stomach acid moves up into the esophagus, which connects to the mouth. Reflux becomes a disease when it causes frequent or severe symptoms such as heartburn, difficulty swallowing, coughing, chest pain etc or injury.
