Biography
Ms. Arooj Nazir is a Clinical Psychologist and PhD Scholar in Clinical Psychology with extensive clinical, academic, and rehabilitation experience. She has previously served as a Psychologist (BPS-17) in the Punjab Special Education Department, where she worked closely with children with neurodevelopmental and neurodivergent conditions, including Intellectual Disability, Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), Down Syndrome, Cerebral Palsy, and children with visual, hearing, and physical disabilities. Her work includes comprehensive psychological assessments, psychodiagnostic evaluations, report writing, behavioural management, counselling, and the development of individualized educational and training programs tailored to the unique needs of children with special needs and their families.
Throughout her professional career, Ms. Arooj has worked in diverse clinical, educational, and rehabilitation settings, including Fountain House, Sir Ganga Ram Hospital, Shaukat Khanum Memorial Cancer Hospital and Research Centre, Special Education Centers, Hamza Foundation Academy for the Deaf, and SOS Children’s Villages Pakistan, where she developed extensive expertise in psycho-diagnosis, psychotherapy, counselling, and mental health support for adolescents and adults across academic and clinical environments.
Her therapeutic orientation is primarily eclectic, integrative, and trauma-informed, drawing upon evidence-based approaches including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Behavioral Therapy to address the unique needs of clients. She works with a broad range of psychological concerns, including Depression, Anxiety Disorders, Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD), Conversion Disorder, Personality Disorders, Schizophrenia, developmental and relational trauma, and related interpersonal, emotional, and behavioural difficulties. She is committed to providing empathetic, culturally sensitive, and client-centered psychological care aimed at enhancing emotional well-being, resilience, and overall quality of life.
